The
Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the A/E
consultant is on track and is performing as per the agreed terms and
specification.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Design & Studies Manager in selecting the A/E consultant and ensure adding the best value
- Assist and support the Design & Studies Manager in all activities associated with the design development process with regards to the mechanical requirements. This will require involvement in all design stages in order to manage the project properly and ensure delivering it successfully.
- Assist the Design & Studies Manager in reviewing the deliverables of the A/E consultancy firm/agency with regards to the mechanical plumbing requirements, this may include
- Source of domestic hot water
- Scale plans of all pipe routing
- Floor and roof plumbing plans
- Fire life safety and protection plans
- Riser diagrams
- Reference to codes and standards to be used
- Other related mechanical plumbing requirements
- Assist the Design & Studies Manager in reviewing the deliverables of the A/E consultancy firm/agency with regards to the mechanical HVAC calculations, this may include
- Scale plans of all HVAC piping and duct-work
- Enlarged plans and sections of major mechanical equipment rooms
- Schedule of materials and equipment
- Mechanical system flow diagrams
- Energy management system
- Reference to codes and standards to be used
- Other related mechanical HVAC requirements
- Provide the Marketing & Sales department with technical and operational support in all activities associated with the market research & studies process and related to the mechanical requirements. This may include
- Feasibility study results
- Concept design options
- Other related activities
- Provide the Procurement & Contracts Management section with technical and operational support in all activities associated with the contracts tendering & planning process and related to the mechanical requirements. This may include
- Updating the tendering document (RFQ/RFP/Bid Document)
- Reviewing received quotations/proposals
- Other related activities
- Provide the Project Management section with technical and operational support in all activities associated with the project construction process and related to the mechanical requirements. This may include
- Material change requests
- Disputes and claims
- Quality review and control
- Other related activities
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of:
•Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Masters Degree in Mechanical would be preferred
•4 years of related experience
•Experience
and ability to apply HVAC, mechanical, fire codes, and related building
codes regulations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
•Knowledge of Mechanical software and applications
•Fluent Arabic/ English
